Final Destinations: A Travel Guide for Remarkable Cemeteries in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana
Published in Paperback by University of North Texas Press (May, 2000)
Average review score:

Cemetary bookThis is a good reference book. It lists some different cemeteries in the Texas,New Mexico,Oklahoma and Arkansas region. Some I already knew about but lot I did not. It has some historical information along with several pictures of the actual cemeteries. Would have liked more information listed about some of the cemeteries in Oklahoma. I'm sure a book on each state and its famous or interesting cemeteries could be written. I would recommend it for people doing genealogy in this region.

Financial Freedom: A Wealth Manual for the Middle Class
Published in Paperback by Lifestyle Pub (November, 1994)
Average review score:

Very good informationThe bottom line is that this book explains exactly how to get out of all debt (including the mortgage) as fast as possible. It then goes on to explain how to invest in real estate or to start a business with as little risk as possible. It is not written as well as I had hoped and there is too much hype about what you can do with your new found wealth. Still, it is very good information and is worth the time and money it takes to access information that isn't typically taught in school.

Five Plays (Penguin Classics)
Published in Paperback by Penguin USA (Paper) (October, 1988)
Average review score:

The top five? This edition contains what can be argued to be Middleton's most famous plays: A Trick to Catch the Old One, The Revenger's Tragedy, A Chaste Maid in Cheapside, Women Beware Women, and The Changeling. I always appreciate it when a collection contains "greatest hits" without being interspersed with more obscure works. Penguin Classics also includes a nice introduction.
As for the actual plays, they are classic Renaissance drama. There is plotting, marriage, and revenge. Fans or students of Jonson, Massinger, Marston, and Shakespeare are likely to be interested in these as well.

Forgotten Eagle: Wiley Post, America's Heroic Aviation Pioneer
Published in Hardcover by Carroll & Graf (10 December, 2001)
Average review score:

A very thorough accountThis biography is carefully researched, with the footnotes where they belong--at the foot of the page. The authors have done a lot of research and their telling of the dramatic life and feats of Wiley Post makes for a fascinating book. The account of the two round-the-world flights is full of awesome momnets. There is a lot of technical flying data, and for the non-flyer this gets a bit long, as does the exhaustive account of the events following the crash on Aug 15, 1935. From the time that Wiley Post dies there are still 120 pages in the book, but much is interesting and the account of the world-wide grieving is poignant and well-done. There are good illustrations, tho also I would have liked a map of the the area where the crash occurred. But overall, this book tells the story well, and is well worth reading if you are interested in the life of a daring and gutsy early flyer, who should be remembered.

Average review score:

The Grinch is great anytime of year.Children who are hooked on the Grinch will love this tale of how Max meets the Grinch by getting rid of his itch. As with the classic, children will witness the Grinch go from mean and grumpy to friendly and kind. The best part is that this book may be read all year round.

Henry's Attic: Some Fascinating Gifts to Henry Ford and His Museum
Published in Hardcover by Wayne State Univ Pr (January, 1996)
Average review score:

Henry's AtticThis book is well thought out, put together, and executed. All in all its very informative and insightful concerning Henry Ford's museum and historical village. If there is anything inherently wrong with the book, its that the scope of the work is too large to fill just one volume. There is over one million documented artifacts in the museum/village, and this book can only give details on a select few.
Excellant reading and entertainment for those history buffs and would be inventors out there who want to see how Henry did it.

High Performance Windows NT 4 Optimization & Tuning: The Authoritative Guide to Power, Security, and Troubleshooting
Published in Paperback by The Coriolis Group (30 September, 1997)
Average review score:

Enough detail, for a change...Covers the diagnosis of bottlenecks in the system. It's a little short on what to do about it if you are tuning a purchased application. If you're a developer, it's a good start a diagnosis what your program is doing to the system. The networking concepts need the most work. This is where it's most dated, simply because this discipline advances so quickly.

Published in School & Library Binding by Frederick Warne & Co (September, 1980)
Average review score:

If You Say So, ClaudeThis book is hilarious. Shirley and Claude decide to leave Colorado and go to Texas. They have heard that Texas is great. The book has four chapters, and each one represents a different region of Texas. The chapter describes the physical characteristics of each region along with the animals commanly found there. This book is great for a Texas unit or just for a good laugh! Kids love it!
